Remember Vietnam vets

Like many others in previous generations, they responded when their country called. Yet, when they returned home, they weren't welcomed home like those before them.
They are the Vietnam War veterans, the men and women who were either ignored or treated badly when they returned to U.S. soil.
Since, we, as a country, have learned that they need to be recognized for their service, honored for doing what their country asked them to do.
In 2012, President Barack Obama signed a proclamation declaring March 29 as Vietnam War Veterans Day. Five years later, President Donald Trump signed an act officially setting that day to honor those veterans.
As with other wars, we lost many husbands, fathers, sons, daughters and other loved ones. But, many returned home at the end of their service, and were not given the praise and thanks they so deserved.
Join us in taking time to do that this week, and also every day.
