Elizabeth Mary Lowe, 76, of Vandalia, died at 8:15 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012, at Salem Township Hospital in Salem.

Per the family’s wishes, Mrs. Lowe’s cremated remains will be returned to her birthplace in Ireland. The family will hold a remembrance at a later date. Ambassador Cremation Service in Hoyleton was in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at www.ambassadorcremation.com.

Charles “Charlie” Washburn, 77, of Vandalia, died at 12:35 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Carol E. Lackey, 66, of Vandalia, died on Sunday, April 1, 2012, in the emergency room at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joseph Havrilka officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Livingston. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until time of services on April 4 at the funeral home. Memorials: Second Chance Animal Rescue of Fayette County in Vandalia.

Norma K. Holtcamp, 71, of Vandalia, died on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.

Carol E. Lackey, 66, of Vandalia, died on Sunday, April 1, 2012, in the emergency room at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
