Carol E. Lackey, 66, Vandalia

Carol E. Lackey, 66, of Vandalia, died on Sunday, April 1, 2012, in the emergency room at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joseph Havrilka officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Livingston. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until time of services on April 4 at the funeral home. Memorials: Second Chance Animal Rescue of Fayette County in Vandalia.
Mrs. Lackey was born on March 9, 1946, in Litchfield, the daughter of William “Scottie” and Barbara Lipolskey Fleming. She married Jack M. Lackey on June 25, 1996, in Effingham.
She was a homemaker, was affiliated with Mother of Dolors Catholic Church in Vandalia and was a patron of Second Chance Animal Rescue of Fayette County.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Brett Collman of Ramsey, and Brian Collman and fiancée Peggy of Brownstown; grandchildren, Megan and Bobby; stepgrandchildren, Hallie, Courtney, Tabitha and Zach; brothers, William Fleming and his wife Maureen of Sunset Hills, Mo., and Michael Fleming and his wife Jane of Worden; and sister, Denise Heinemeier of Livingston.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
