Eagles fail to upset Vandalia or Pana

For the Eagles to better their seed in the Vandalia Holiday Tournament, they would have had to had upset either second-seeded Vandalia or third-seeded Pana, but fifth-seeded St. Elmo was unable to do so. The Eagles did get a 67-49 win against No. 8 Stew-Stras on Monday morning, before falling to Vandalia, 48-43, that night, and Pana, 60-44, Tuesday afternoon. St. Elmo vs. Pana The Eagles led by two at halftime, but Pana used a 12-2 run in the third period to take a 10-point lead, which would be all it needed during a 60-44 win Tuesday afternoon. The teams played evenly through the first half, with neither of them leading by more than four points, but Pana dominated the second half, outscoring the Eagles, 33-15. The Eagles got scoring from nine different players during the game, with a team-high eight from Connor Beasley.
