Lady Vandals capture first win of the season

The Vandalia tennis squad picked up its first team win of the season last Thursday, defeating East Alton Wood River, 5-4.
Senior Hannah Blythe picked up a win in No. 1 singles play, blanking Emilee Olinghouse 8-0.  Blythe is undefeated in singles play for the season after finishing the regular season last year undefeated as well.  
Kiersten Dossett picked up the only other singles win at EA-Wood River, defeating Courtney Beneke 9-8 in No. 2 singles play.
The other three wins came in doubles play, with Blythe and Dossett teaming up to beat R. Wallendorf/Caitlyn Olinghouse 8-0 in No. 2 doubles play. Cassidy Jones and Connie Hans defeated A. Mitchell/M. Walendorf 8-2 in No. 3 doubles play.
The freshman doubles team of Stacey Hudson and Jaden Johnson picked up its first victory of the year, defeating Price/Marshal 8-5.
