SEB wins high-scoring affair in opener

The St. Elmo/Brownstown junior high softball team showed off its offensive abilities on Monday, knocking off Ramsey, 12-7, in the season-opener.

Katelyn Maxey had three hits, three runs and an RBI to pace the Jr. Lady Eagles (1-0), and Audrey Reynolds had two singles and two runs.

Payton Hoopingarner added a single, two RBI and two runs.

Ramsey took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but SEB stormed back for two runs in the bottom of the frame and one in the bottom of the second.

Ramsey tied the game in the third, but the Jr. Lady Eagles scored four times in each of the next two innings to secure the victory.

Natalie Oberlink earned the win for SEB.
