Lady Vandals have to play into own regional
Two area softball teams will have to play into their own regionals, and two other teams have No. 3 seeds.
Vandalia Regional
The fifth-seeded Lady Vandals will travel to No. 4 Wesclin on Monday for the play-in game to the Vandalia Regional.
Wesclin, No. 1 Greenville, No. 2 Breese Central and No. 3 Carlyle are all a few games over .500, and if the Lady Vandals get on a hot streak, they could surprise.
“It’s a one-and-done tournament, so you have to be ready,” said coach Brian Buscher. “I like that we are playing a little better right now, so if we can keep hitting, we have a shot against those teams with Megan (Godoyo) on the mound.”
