Vandals have tough time in loss to 3A Taylorville
The Vandals took a lopsided loss to Class 3A Taylorville on Tuesday.
The Tornadoes hit a barrage of 3-pointers throughout the game, with several coming in a 32-point first quarter, and easily dispatched Vandalia, 87-43.
Wade Harre, Collin Nestleroad and Carson Smith each had nine points for the Vandals (6-14), who allowed 80 points for the fifth time this season.
Taylorville had 13 players score in the game, and hit 12 3-pointers in the game.
Vandalia will look to improve its 1-2 South Central Conference in the next week, but faces tough challengers.
On Friday, the Vandals will host Litchfield (18-4, 5-0 SCC) – which won an earlier matchup, 80-53 – and next Tuesday host Pana, which runs a fast-paced offense that relies on shooting as many shots as possible.
