Ramsey falls short by seven in season-opening loss

Ramsey coach Wendy Cook said before the season that the cooperative agreement with Mulberry Grove was going to benefit her team.

And it almost produced a victory in the season-opener.

The two players who came over from Mulberry Grove combined to score 36 points on Tuesday in a 58-51 loss to Sandoval.

Kayla Zimmerman, a junior, led all scorers with 22 points, and Kate Jolliff, a senior, added 14 point and led the team with eight rebounds. Each made two 3-pointers in the game for the Lady Rams (0-1).

Sophomore Skye Kimberlin added eight points and six rebounds, and sophomore Meghan Kimberlin scored five.
