Spencer Patton • Pitcher • Caneros de Los Mochis •Oct. 12 – Patton, a South Central graduate, picked up a save for the Caneros de Los Mochis in a season-opening 3-2 win against Guasave in Caribbean Winter League action. Patton pitched the ninth inning, allowing a hit and a walk. Sierah Ruffner • Freshman • Greenville • Volleyball •Oct. 15 – Ruffner, a Vandalia graduate, had five kills, two block assists and a dig during a 3-0 win at Iowa Wesleyan. GC is 18-4 (11-0 SLIAC) on the season. •Oct. 12 – Ruffner had two kills and a solo block during a 3-0 win against MacMurray. •Oct. 12 – Ruffner had six kills and one dig during a 3-0 win against Principia. •Oct. 8 – Ruffner had six kills and three block assists during a 3-1 win at Lincoln Christian. Amy Walton • Junior • Blackburn • Volleyball •Oct. 14 – Walton, a Vandalia graduate, had eight digs during a 3-0 loss at Spalding. •Oct. 12 – Walton had nine digs during a 3-0 loss to Spalding during a conference quad in St. Louis. •Oct. 12 – Walton had 18 during a 3-1 loss to Eureka. Paige Ehrat • Freshman • Millikin • Tennis •Oct. 9 – Ehrat, a Vandalia graduate, won, 8-2, in No. 3 doubles, but lost, 1-6, 2-6, in No. 4 singles during a 6-3 win at Concordia University-Chicago. Millikin closes the season at 3-10. Kinzie Neilson • Sophomore • Lincoln Land • Volleyball •Oct. 12 – Neilson, a South Central graduate, had nine digs, two kills and an ace during a 3-1 win against Kaskaskia College. With the victory, LLCC earned the championship of the Logger Invitational, and improved its record to 24-3. The Loggers are ranked No. 6 in the country. •Oct. 12 – Neilson had nine digs, six kills, two aces and two block assists during a 3-0 win against Kankakee Community College. •Oct. 11 – Neilson had six digs, five kills and an ace during a 3-0 win against East Central College. •Oct. 11 – Neilson had 12 digs, six kills and three aces during a 3-1 win against Butler (Kan.) Community College. •Oct. 9 – Neilson had eight kills, six digs and an ace in a 3-0 loss at Illinois Central College.
