South Central to play for NTC title, BSE season ends

South Central will face St. Anthony for the National Trail Conference Tournament championship for the second straight season.

The Cougars defeated Windsor/Stew-Stras, 9-3, on Wednesday to advance to their second straight title games in their second season in the NTC.

Four players had two hits for South Central (11-4), and Noah Powless had a three-run home run in the first inning.

Dylen Peters (5-1) picked up the win for the Cougars, tossing a complete game.

The title game will be played at Altamont at 3 p.m.

In the consolation bracket, Brownstown/St. Elmo lost at Dieterich, 1-0.

Jacob Behrends struck out 11 in a complete-game effort, but the Bombers (9-11) had just four hits during the game.
