BHS class of ’53 holds 60-year reunion

The Brownstown High School class of 1953 held its 60-year reunion recently with a noon luncheon at Ponderosa Steakhouse in Vandalia.

Elizabeth Kasten presented a short program and read a poem about winter setting in (aging). Class members talked about their high school teachers.
Those attending were: Don and Elvera Sidwell of Shobonier; Maurice Sefton of Forsyth; Ron Reynolds of Metamora; Bill Voison of Rochester; Carolyn Sue (Washburn) Engel of Kinmundy; Joyce Bennyhoff Black of Farina; Dotty (Sidwell) and Dean Wilson of Topeka, Kan.; Beverly (Gatewood) and Howard Agena of Mililani, Hawaii; and Brownstown residents Elizabeth (Behrends) Kasten, Julia (Purcell) Magnus, Darrell Sidwell, Phyllis (Miller) and Morgan Pryor, and Howard and Carol Koester.
Glendale Vaughn, now of Oak Harbor, Wash., joined the group at the Moose Hall during the Brownstown Alumni Reunion.
