Wrestlers crush pair of opponents at EAWR

The Vandalia wrestlers throttled a pair of opponents on Tuesday night at a tri-meet in East Alton-Wood River.

The Vandals knocked off EAWR, 84-0, and then dismantled Carlinville, 78-4.

Against EAWR, Vandalia (11-6) received eight forfeit wins and posted pins in the remaining matches.

Included were the first career pins for sophomore Todd Ashdown and freshman Luke Tessman.

Against Carlinville, the Vandals got nine forfeit wins and four pins.

Sophomore Jake Stewart was the only wrestler to get two pins, and nine individuals had one pins on the night.
Vandalia travels to Highland on Thursday before hosting a quad meet at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
