Four area players named all-tournament at VHT
Four players from Fayette County were selected to the all-tournament team for the 41st annual Vandalia Holiday Tournament.
Vandalia seniors Michael Wells and Tim Ritchey, St. Elmo junior Levi Maxey, and South Central senior Fischer Tharp were each selected for the squad.
Pana's Robbie Hester was the tournament's Most Valuable Player, and he was joined by teammate Kyle Gibson.
Other players selected to the team were: St. Anthony's Jacob Schuette, Altamont's Garrett Ziegler, Flora's Ethan Leib, Maroa-Fosyth's Drew Aschermann and Shelbyville's Brody Bence.
Tournament stats for all of these players, as well as other top performers from the tournament, will appear in the Jan. 3 issue of The Leader-Union.
