Vandals beat Litchfield to stay perfect in conference play

LITCHFIELD – The Vandals overcame a slow start to win 48-34 at Litchfield on Friday night in South Central Conference action.

Senior Tim Ritchey had 14 points to lead the Vandals, and senior Chase Woolsey had 11 rebounds. Junior Colton Woolsey blocked five shots in the game, and senior Michael Wells had 11 points.

Vandalia trailed, 13-5, after the first eight minutes, but stormed out to a six-point halftime lead by outscoring the Panthers, 20-6, in the second quarter.

Litchfield did briefly get the lead back in the third period, but the Vandals closed that quarter on a 9-2 run to put themselves in a position to get their third SCC win.

Vandalia is 6-2 on the season and travels to Carlyle on Tuesday night.
