Vandalia wins first regional volleyball title since 1985

It's about time.

The Vandalia volleyball team beat Flora, 25-18, 25-18, to win to school's first regional championship since 1985 on Thursday night, earning a trip to the Cumberland Sectional, where the Lady Vandals will play Pana on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Senior RaeChelle Leiken had the game-winning kill, the final of her team-high 10 in the match. Senior Austyn Krueger added eight, and Sierah Ruffner had seven to help the Lady Vandals record 30 in the game.

Vandalia had five blocks in the match, with Leiken having one solo and four assists.
