South Central moves to 10 wins by wining at Benton Tournament

South Central picked up its 10th win of the season by defeating East Central, 7-5, to win the Benton RBI Tournament on Saturday.

Heath Hoffmann clobbered a grand slam during a five-run sixth inning that sealed the Cougars' victory, and

Shawn Meyer tossed one-hit ball over the final three innings to take his third win of the season.

Cole Armstrong was 2-for-3 with a double, and Drake Ritter also had a pair of hits.

In game one of the tournament, Armstrong had a game-winning two-run single in the top of the seventh inning to propel South Central past Benton, 7-6.

Colton Wilkins had a three-run home run in a five-run third inning to give the Cougars a 5-3 lead.

Benton would tie the game in the bottom half of the frame, and there would be no scoring until Armstrong's seventh-inning single.
