South Central takes third place at MTC Tournament
The South Central boys may be at a turning point in their season.
Coming into the Midland Trail Conference Tournament as a No. 5 seed, the Cougars upset second-seeded Cisne, 43-31, to take third place on Saturday.
South Central (6-14) got a game-high 17 points from senior Colby Bushue, who scored 10 of those points during the fourth quarter.
In the final period, the Cougars outscored Cisne, 21-8, to secure the victory.
Cisne had led through most of the first half, including a four-point advantage at halftime.
The Runnin’ Lions, however, would score just seven points in the third period, while the Cougars added 10 to get within one.
In the fourth quarter, South Central made 8-of-14 free throws.
Top-seeded Woodlawn won the tournament.
