Lady Cougars win Herrin Tournament
The South Central High School volleyball team won the Herrin Tournament on Saturday.
Seniors Emily Atwood and Kinzie Neilson were named to the all-tournament team.
The tournament, which coach Mary Brimberry said would likely be indicator of how strong her team is considering the competition, was won after defeating Marissa, Johnson City, Crab Orchard, Herrin and Marion.
The Lady Cougars lost just two sets during the tournament – one each to Herrin and Marion.
