Anniversary

Kenny and Pat Gathe will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Shrine Club on Vandalia Lake.
Kenny  Gathe and the former Pat Murphy were married on Aug. 12, 1951, in Jackson, Miss.

Pat is the daughter of the late Russell and Marie Murphy. She was a stay-at-home mother when the children were young. She started Gathe’s Tax and Accounting Service in 1979, where she is still a tax consultant.
Kenny is the son of the late Raymond “Fat” and Faye Gathe. He served in the Navy during the Korean conflict, with Seabee Construction Unit, and worked as a teamster, retiring from Taylor Ready Mix.
They are the parents of eight children: Karl Gathe, Teena and her husband Terry Yarbrough, and Tammy and her husband Dean Eyman, all of Vandalia; Dudley Gathe and his wife Susanne of Effingham; David
Gathe and his wife Angie of Vernon; Ted Gathe of Alamogordo, N.M.; Tricia and her husband Brad Grandt of Shobonier; and Amy and her husband Ronnie Pyle of Seymour, Tenn. They have 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to attend the open house. The couple requests no gifts.
