Services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Rodney Caswell officiating. Burial will be in Griffith Cemetery in rural Brownstown. Donald F. Elam, 72, of Vandalia, died at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at Vandalia Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at First Christian Church in Brownstown, with the Rev. Bruce Sasse officiating. Private burial will be at a later date in Liberty Cemetery in Mulberry Grove. Visitation will beheld from 8:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the church.
Mr. Elam was born on Feb. 24, 1939, in Pocahontas, the son of Marquis and Stella Elam.
