GHS Boys Golf Looks To Lower Scores Before Regional
By Mark Jurgena, Advocate Sports Staff
The boys golf regular season at Greenville High School has one week to go with regional play beginning one week from today.
Last week the GHS boys participated in three matchups.
Vandalia
On Sept. 16 the Comets traveled to the Vandalia Country Club for a nine-hole dual match with the Vandals.
The home side shot a 165 with GHS carding a 178 team score.
For the Comets, freshman Christian Swalley had a career best round of 39.
Sophomore Herschel Dothager fired a 44 while Caden Wayman came in with a 46.
Jack Workman shot a 49 with Landon Hentze shooting a 51.
Cohen Reavis shot a 52.
“It was good to see some of the underclassmen shooting low scores which we can build off of for the rest of the season and next year,” said GHS coach Steve Dannaman.
Timber Lakes
GHS took part in a five-team event at Timber Lakes Golf Course in Staunton on Sept. 17.
