Soccer Panthers claim first two victories of the season

It was a big week of games for the Greenville University men’s soccer team.

They got their initial two wins of the season against a pair of Division III 

schools from Iowa.

GU entered this week with a 2-4-1 record. They had a contest at Illinois College yesterday and open up SLIAC play at home on Saturday.

Not on this night.

It was Greenville’s night and Andres Garcia made sure of it.

Garcia scored a goal on a free kick in the 64th minute to break a 1-1 tie and picked up a big win over the Duhawks 2-1 on Sept. 18.

Loras came into the game with some big wins already this season including over Aurora who had beaten Greenville 5-0 just a few days earlier. Greenville had lost to Wash U. 5-0 a few days before that.

Well, never compare scores.
