Eagles softball making imporvements
By Mark Jurgena, Advocate Sports Staff
It’s been a tough year so far for the Mulberry Grove Jr. High softball team. They have picked up only one win so far this season.
But veteran coach Misty Mezo is encouraged by the improvement her team is making every time they take the field.
“We have made some really good plays like turning a double play, picking a girl off third, and two diving catches,” she said. “Our pitching is improving all the time. We are also making contact up to bat when last year these kids wouldn’t swing the bat. I know we are not winning but sometimes it is a little more than winning. Sometimes it is just learning and improving.”
