Eagles baseball continues to march through the season

By Mark Jurgena, Advocate Sports Staff

While the Mulberry Grove Eagles Jr. High baseball team has struggled on the scoreboard this season, the team continues to work hard and make improvements.

“This season we are facing some adversity, but we’ve also faced strong competition from the teams we have played against up to this point,” said coach Ryan Oldham. “We have several young players this year that are showing great effort and making significant improvements. Our lone eighth grader has been an excellent role model and setting a great example for his teammates. The boys on the team have found a passion for baseball and are dedicated to getting better, one pitch at a time.”

Season results

MG dropped their opener 13-2 to CHBC at home to start the season.

Mulberry had one hit off the bat of eighth-grader Jace Holloway.

The Bobcats could only muster one hit as well but six errors by the Eagles led to only three total earned runs for CHBC in the contest.
