Jays baseball has second week of action

After two weeks of play the Greenville Jr. High Blue Jays have a 5-3 record however the past week saw some adversity on the scoreboard falling in three of their five contests.
Wesclin win
GJHS began their week with an 11-2 win at Trenton (Wesclin) on Aug. 19.
The Jays scored nine runs over the final three innings to take the victory.
Brody Hawkins led the offense with two hits a double, triple and three RBI.
William Shneck also delivered a big blow with a two-run home run in the top of the third to get the Jays out to a 2-0 lead. He finished the game with three RBI.
Kobe Atchison had a single and a pair of RBI with Brody Lindley collecting an RBI.
Hunter Neece was the winning pitcher going six strong innings giving up five hits, two earned runs, walking two and striking out six.
Easton Walker finished off the game on the hill tossing one scoreless inning giving up a hit and striking out one.
SC loss
On Aug. 21 the Jays dropped a home game to Kinmundy (South Central) by a score of 18-4 in four innings.
Greenville had two hits on the day. One off the bat of Schneck with the other from Zach Goggin.
Walker and Griffin Rehkemper picked up RBI for GJHS.
