For the first time ever the World of Outlaws Late Models are coming to the World Famous Highland Speedway!
The World of Outlaws is one of the premier dirt track series in the country and will make its debut at Highland on August 14.
“This is like the NASCAR of dirt racing,” began Highland Speedway spokesman Kurt Vonder Haar. “So to land a race of this stature is a very, very big deal for not only Highland but for our whole area; for St. Louis.
Vonder Haar indicated the exposure generated by this event for not only the speedway but for the community and St. Louis, in general, will be big.
“This is the biggest of the big for a late model race, it will be a historic event for Highland Speedway,” he said. “It’s a great way to showcase the community to people from all over the country. I’ve already been looking at the ticket sales. We’ve already sold hundreds of tickets already presale. We’ve got people from California, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida who have already bought tickets for this race.”
The race will be a championship points race for the late model series with 15-20 drivers from the series.
