South Central graduate Patton helps earn Class AAA national title
South Central High School graduate Spencer Patton was included on the postseason roster for the Class AAA Omaha Storm Chasers, and he helped the team win the Pacific Coast League championship.
The Kansas City Royals prospect has had a stellar season in the lower levels of the farm system, and was rewarded with a spot on the playoff roster.
Last Saturday, he struggled in an outing, allowing three earned runs on three hits and a walk in one-third of an inning during a 9-0 loss to Salt Lake.
But, the Storm Chasers came right back with a 10-5 win on Saturday to clinch their second-ever PCL title.
On Tuesday, Omaha played the Durham Bulls for the national Class AAA championship.
Omaha earned the title with a 2-1 victory, but Patton did not pitch in the game.
