Northside Christian starts second service
Beginning this Sunday, Northside Christian Church will be offering a new, non-traditional worship experience during the church's second morning service. The new service will be called "Free on the Inside."
"This service is designed for those who are unchurched and feel a void in their lives," said the Rev. Carl Rhodes. "We will attempt to answer the difficult questions in life. Those include: 'If I'm free on the outside, why do I still feel that I'm captive on the inside? Why do I still feel captive to a past addiction? To a past abusive situation? To an old reputation?'
"You may have attended church a long time ago, but felt that church failed you," Rhodes said. "It's not about the clothes you wear or the length of your hair – it's about finding the answers to the difficult questions in life from the word of God."
The service will be held at 11 a.m. at the church, which is located at 1845 W. Jackson St. in Vandalia. For more information, call 283-1970.
