Gospel Messengers, consisting of father and sons, Bart, Dennis, and Daniel Southerd, will be appearing on Aug. 10 in Mulberry Grove as a part of the continuing Mulberry Grove pre-Homecoming program.
The location of the 7 p.m. performance will be First Church of Christ, 405 N. Maple St., Mulberry Grove.
Gospel Messengers embarked on their mission to spread The Gospel of Jesus Christ through song in 2007. The boys were aged 9 and 6 at the time.

Overcup Baptist Church in Vera is holding Vacation Bible School from next Wednesday through Friday.
The VBS, which has a theme of “Come to the Island – Promise Island,” is open to all children age 4 through young adult.
Sessions will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. nightly, with a performance on Sunday, July 1.
Jim Quick from Bond Camp will be delivering a series based on the show “Fixer Upper” at Northside Christian Church in Vandalia, beginning on Sunday at 6 p.m.
The series includes: week 1, Fix Up Yourself; week 2, Fix Up Your Family; week 3, Fix Up Your Spiritual Life; week 4, Fix Up Your Finances; and week 5, Fix Up Your Church.
The public is invited to participate in the series.
Members of local churches participated in the annual Life Chain event, held locally at the intersection of Gallatin Street and Kennedy Boulevard on Sunday afternoon.
Organizers of the event describe it as "peaceful and prayerful public witness of pro-life individuals standing for prayer for our nation and for an end to abortion."

A seven-week DVD study of 2 Timothy, “Entrusted,” is being held at Northside Christian Church.
The study begins next Thursday, with sessions held at 6:30 p.m. Faye Watson is the teacher.
An optional workbook is available for $19.
St. James chili supper, quilt auction
St. James Lutheran Church at 727 W. Gallatin St. in Vandalia will hold its annual chili supper and a vintage quilt auction from 4-7 p.m. this Thursday, prior to the Lions Club Halloween Parade.
The menu includes chili, hot dog or peanut butter sandwich, dessert and drink. The cost is $6 per person.

First Church of God
hosting senior meal
First Church of God, located at 3001 Thrill Hill Road northwest of Vandalia, will hold its monthly senior luncheon this Friday.
All local seniors are invited to the luncheon, with this month's menu including sloppy Joe's, fruit salad, chips and cookies.
The event begins at noon with the meal and a short Bible lesson.
This month's entertainment will be John and Judy Roberts, and Cheryl Harre.
There is no charge for the meal, but donations are accepted.
