Seven Jr. Vandals earn wrestling regional titles

Seven Jr. Vandals earned regional championships on Saturday at the South Regional in Herrin, with five of them advancing to this weekend’s sectional.

In the Novice Division for 11- and 12-year-olds, champions were: Jarek Wehrle (62), Tanner Swain (89) and Garret Stewart (130).

In the Senior Division for 13- and 14-year-olds, champions were: Jarrett Pasley (89) and Shane White (166).

All five of them will compete at this Saturday’s South Sectional at Highland High School. The event begins at 9 a.m.
