Evergreen Outreach
By Mary Woolsey
April showers brought pouring rain to E.O. on Monday. Unfortunately, only volunteers weathered the rain to attend.
We had Milton Smith from Mulberry Grove as our entertainment. He brought Sandy Thacker and Richard Hawk from Vandalia as guests.
Mr. Smith sang the classic country songs we all love. To name a few: “Somebody Waiting for You,” “When the Sun Goes Down,” “Kiss an Angel Good Morning,” “Devil Woman,” “My Woman, My Woman, My Wife” and “I’m Sorry.”
The Rev. Joe Lawson shared a devotional about faithfulness. He said Abraham was faithful when God told him to move; he moved without knowing where he was to go. Pastor Lawson said our volunteers were faithful because we came in the rain.
Later, Mr. Smith sang “Make the World Go Away” and “Loving You,” and he sang “We Had It All” and “In Dreams” with Sandy Thacker.
Pinochle winners were Susan Meador and Mary Woolsey with two games. Also playing were Richard Kruenegel and Rosamund Hobler.
