Evergreen Outreach
By Sharon Mueller
It was another beautiful day for Evergreen Outreach on Monday. Entertaining those present were the Jefferson Primary School pre-school students. They sang several “fish” songs, per their unit study, assisted by two teachers, Mrs. Abendroth and Mrs. Smith, and two teacher aides.
Beulah Brown was leader for the afternoon. She quizzed the group in “Things to do in May,” and received several good responses, such as mowing grass, hunting mushrooms, planting flowers, and the tradition of May baskets and the May Pole.
Everyone joined in singing familiar hymns, accompanied by piano player, Donna Smith.
Birthdays were recognized for Cary Neeley, Randy Owens, Delores Weaver and Dorothy Evans.
The Rev. Joe Lawson gave the devotional on Mark 10:13-16, where Jesus talks about children and the kingdom. “Let the little children come to me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.”
The pinochle players tied, with Peggy Lippold and Rosamond Hobler taking the first set. Mary Woolsey and Shirley Locke took the second set.
