County Board Amends Zoning Ordinance

At the September 3 meeting of the Bond County Board, ordinance 09-03-24-01 was approved. This amended the Bond County, Illinois Zoning Ordinance that was adopted on December 1, 1991, and then amended on August 22, 2006, March 19, 2019, August 20, 2022, July 5, 2023 and December 19, 2023. The ordinance is in regards to Solar Farm Energy Systems, SFES. The Bond County Zoning Board of Appeals proposed a change to section 5-12.4 of the SFES, which is what the county board approved. The ordinance can be found at bondcountyil.gov/zoning.

At the beginning of the meeting, the board approved the minutes of the August 20, 2024 regular meeting. They also reviewed the treasurer’s report for June and July 2024, submitted by Colleen Camp, treasurer, as well as the highway report for August 2024 submitted by County Highway Engineer Mike McCormic.

David Koonce was appointed to the SIMAPC Full Commission.

There is an opening on the Bond County Board of Health, and Carissa Bohannon is being recommended for appointment.

The Sheriff’s report for July 2024 was approved.

The next meeting will be on September 17, at 7 p.m. at the Bond County Courthouse.
