City-wide yard sales to be held September 27 and 28

By Rebecca Sponsler, Advocate Editor

The City of Greenville will host their annual city-wide fall yard sales on September 27 and 28. The event is open to all city residents.

The City of Greenville staff is working hard to arrange everything, make the maps, and provide citizens with details of what might be available at a specific yardsale.

If you would like to participate, there is NO cost to do so. All you need to do is pick up a registration form at the Greenville Municipal Building, 404 S. 3rd St. Greenville, or Greenville Public Library 414 W Main St. Greenville. If you prefer a digital form you can go to Greenvilleillnios.com/news, or visit the City of Greenville’s Facebook page.

In order to be included on the map forms must be returned by 8 a.m. Wednesday, September 25.

Beginning on September 26, maps will be available at the Greenville Police Department, 404 S. 3rd St. Greenville, the Municipal building, and at the Advocate Office at 305 S. 2nd St. in Greenville.

As a reminder to participants, “yard sale signs should only be posted on private property with the owner’s consent and that it is illegal to post signs on city utility poles, street signs poles, or signal light poles,” said a press release from the City of Greenville. For more information or any questions call the City of Greenville at 618-664-1644.
