By Mark Jurgena, Advocate Sports Staff

It was a big night for drivers from two continents last Saturday at the World Famous Highland Speedway as drivers from Troy, St. Jacob, Highland, Collinsville and Australia (yes, the continent/country) all won feature races.

Dean Hoffmann of Troy won the Modified feature race for the second week in a row taking down Highland drivers Owen Steinkoenig, Chris Smith and Rick Salter. That Highland trio finished second through fourth respectively.

Cody Zobrist of Highland was sixth while Troy Ernst was ninth.

Highland’s Cody Ventimiglia and Jimmy Cummins made the 20-car feature.

In the Pro Modifieds, Alex Cygan of St. Jacob took the victory with Brett Cygan taking third place. Brett Eilerman of Highland was second while Christian Lee of Sorento took fourth place.

Cole Knebel and John Holzhauer of Pocahontas took the ninth and tenth spots in the feature.

Tom Krankel of Sorento was in the field along with Pocahontas drivers Danny O’Dell, Garrett Schumaker and Billy Knebel.
