Vandalia’s 15U squad goes 1-3 on the weekend

The Vandalia 15U baseball squad went 1-3 over the weekend, going 1-1 on Saturday and dropping both games of a twinbill on Sunday.

On Saturday, Vandalia was shut out by Central States Spikes, 11-0, and defeated Central Illinois Outlaws, 5-2.
On Sunday, the Vandals lost to Pana in both doubleheader games, 7-1 and 8-6.

In the first inning, Matthew Hagy walked, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a fielder’s choice by Cayden Hipsher.
In the fourth inning, Hagy again reached on a walk, stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on second wild pitch. Reid Well also walked, stole second and moved around on two wild pitches.
In the seventh inning, Well singled, Owen Miller singles and stole second and Andrew Kelly singled to bring home Well and Miller.

In the third inning, Carson Lotz was hit by a pitch and Kale Konrad entered as a pinch runner. Konrad stole second, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on an error by the center fielder.

Pana 8, Vandalia 6
The Vandals got on the board in the first inning when Carson Ruot walked, stole second and scored on a double by Conner Ray. Ray then scored on a fielder’s choice by Derek Warren.
In the second inning, Chase McNary walked and Kale Konrad singled, and both came home on a Jaydon Lotz triple. Lotz scored on a single by Ruot.
Jaydon Lotz reached on an error in the fifth inning, stole second and scored on a Ruot single.
