Ferguson wins IHSA regional, Lady Vandals advance

Madison Ferguson won her second straight regional title to lead the Vandalia girls bowling team to a sectional berth.

Ferguson, a sophomore, rolled a 1,372 total to win the individual regional title.
Ferguson finished 230 pins above the second-place finisher, Charlotte Hayes of Edwardsville (1,142 pins) and 320 more than third place, Kelli Page of Carlinville (320).
The Lady Vandals had a 5,214, which was good enough for a third-place finish at the Jerseyville Regional.
Collinsville won the Jerseyville Regional with a 5,864 total, and Highland placed second with 5,702.
Vandalia now competes at the O’Fallon Sectional this Saturday at St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights.
Other scores for Vandalia were:
• Aurora Richardson-1,124, 10th place.
• Samantha Rittis-934, 26th place.
• Emma Hamilton-918, 29th place.
• Carley Miller-866, 38th place.
