Coroner handles three cases in recent days

The Fayette County Coroner has handled three cases in recent days.
Coroner Dave Harris said that early on Sunday, he responded to a death in Vandalia. Harris said that a 36-year-old female was discovered dead by a co-worker at their place of employments.
She was later identified as Nikki L. Handegan of Vandalia.
An autopsy was to be performed on Monday in Effingham.
No further information was released at the time, and Harris said the death is still under investigation by his office and the Vandalia Police Department.
Harris said that he responded to his second and third calls in less than 30 hours on Monday.
Just after midnight, Harris was called to Fayette County Hospital for a death in the emergency room. That person was identified as Billy R. Robertson, 78, of Vandalia.
Harris and Deputy Rob Schukar responded later that morning to a residence in rural Vandalia. Harris pronounced Bradley D. Thompson, 56, at the residence.
