Stout resigns seat on Vandalia Park District Board
A member of the Vandalia Park District Board of Commissioners who took the lead in the recent renovation of the Vandalia Swimming Pool, and then took over as president of the board, resigned last Thursday.
Brian Stout tendered his resignation at last week’s meeting of the park board.
“Over the course of my tenure on the Vandalia Park Board it has an absolute pleasure serving the citizens of Vandalia as well as working with the other members of the park board,” Stout said in his resignation letter.
“It is important to make sure that we are always looking for ways that we can improve our parks and make the community a better place to live.
“Vandalia is fortunate enough to have some of the best open park space of any community in Illinois, and I was fortunate enough to play a small role in making them even better,” he said.
“I believe that park board positions should rotate to allow other members of the community to step in and implement their ideas and creativity, which is why I made my decision to allow just that to occur,” Stout said.
“I wish nothing but the best for the current board of commissioners and am hopeful that they will continue to make decisions that benefit the citizens of Vandalia.”
