VCHS tennis squad defeats EAWR, falls to Shelbyville

The Lady Vandals netted a win on Monday, defeating East Alton/Wood River, 6-3.
Singles – Stacy Hudson (V) defeated Tina Denton (EAWR), 9-7; Delora Hedgpeth (V) defeated Tina Dominto (EAWR), 8-5; Tina Marshall (EAWR) defeated Aleia Beckman (V), 8-4; Tina Stoappell (EAWR) defeated Riely Ward (V), 8-5; Victoria Smith (V) defeated Tina Hamiti (EAWR), 8-6; Tina Yenne (EAWR) defeated Jaden Johnson (V), 2-8.
Doubles – Hedgpeth/Hudson (V) defeated Denton/Price (EAWR), 8-4; Beckman/Ward (V) defeated Hamiti/Stattery (EAWR) 8-5; Jade Roedl/Rylee Velaquez (V) defeated Allen/Norman (EAWR), 8-5.

On Tuesday, the VCHS girls lost to Shelbyville, 6-2.
Singles – Gill (S) defeated Hudson, 10-9; Hicks (S) defeated Hedgpeth (V), 10-6; Beckman (V) defeated Miller (S), 10-4; Owens (S) defeated Ward (V), 10-7; Martin (S) defeated Smith (V), 10-0; Johnson (V) defeated Geer (S), 10-6.
Doubles – Smothers/Hicks (S) defeated Beckman/Ward(V), 6-0; Owens/Martin (S) defeated Velaquez/Roedl (V), 6-0.
