SC girls improve to 3-1 with 9-2 win Monday
A four-run fifth inning highlighted South Central’s 9-2 win over Cisne in softball play on Monday.
The Lady Cougars banged out 11 hits while Sydnee Garrett was holding Cisne to two runs on four hits in a complete-game performance.
Garrett struck out 11 and walked just one batter in allowing just one earned run.
South Central improved to 1-1 in National Trail Conference play and 3-1 overall.

The Lady Cougars pounded out 15 hits in a 14-3 win against Dieterich last Thursday.
Garrett again went the distance, giving up three runs (two earned), striking out nine and giving up just one walk.

St. Elmo/Brownstown fell to Neoga, 9-3, in a home contest last Thursday.
Neoga scored two runs in the first, two in the second, three in the third and two more in the fourth to pick up a win in the five-inning contest.
Natalie Oberlink took the loss for the Lady Eagles, giving up nine runs (six earned). She struck out five and walked two.
