Vandals beat Cumberland to improve to 3-0
Vandalia’s baseball Vandals defeated Cumberland, 8-2, on Saturday at Effingham to improve to 3-0 on the season.
The Vandals scored three times in the second inning, twice in the fourth inning and three times in the sixth.
Matthew Wells got the win for the Vandals, allowing two runs on five hits, one earned. He gave up five hits, struck out seven and walked two.
Cameron Gelsinger recorded the last three outs to earn a save.
Nathan Casey led the Vandals on offensive with a 2-for-2 performance.
Seven Vandals recorded an RBI in the win.
