Signup for Lighthouse 5K, walk now under way

A 5K/Walk-4-Life will be held Saturday, Nov. 4, at Deken Park in St. Elmo as a fundraising event for Lighthouse Pregnancy & Health Services, 1703 W. Fletcher St., Vandalia.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m., and a pre-event rally featuring Luke Hohlt, South Central Illinois Director of Fellowship of Christian Athletes at 8:30 a.m.
The 5K run starts at 9 a.m., and the two-mile walk begins at 9:05 a.m.
For those who register before Oct. 20, the cost is $25 for adults and $15 for children ages 12 and under. A T-shirt is included in this fee. After Oct. 20, the registration fees are $30 for adults and $20 for children, with T-shirts available by chance.
Those taking part in the Walk-4-Life are encouraged to get sponsors; runners are also invited to collect sponsorship monies. Donations and the sponsor form should be returned to LPHS or taken to Deken Park the day of the walk.
Teams as well as individuals are encouraged, so church groups, exercise buddies or family members and friends are encouraged to participate in the event, which helps save the lives of children and transform families.
All 5K runners will receive participation medals. Top runners in each category will receive recognition, as will the overall fastest male and female runners.
Online registration is available at www.lighthousepregnancy.org. and on the LPHS Facebook page. Sponsor forms are also available at Lighthouse Pregnancy & Health Services, 1703 W. Fletcher St., Vandalia, IL 62471; phone, 283-8750.
