Wrestling team earns dual wins at Litchfield, Carlinville

LITCHFIELD — The Vandalia Vandals split two duals at Litchfield on Thursday night.
Vandalia beat Highland, 51-21. But Litchfield knocked off the Vandals, 39-30.
After splitting the duals, the Vandals are now 19-6 in duals.

Litchfield defeated Vandalia, 39-30.
Litchfield won by forfeit at 106. Vandalia's Jarrett Paslay defeated Collin Davidson, 7-2, at 113. Chaston Womack earned a 15-0 decision over Tyler Thiessen at 120.
Ryne Lipsey won by fall over Blake Uehling in 1:15 at 126, but Litchfield's Ty Durbin pinned Logan Sullens at 132.
Victor Kalaher of Litchfield defeated Luke Tessman, 7-0, at 138, and the Panthers won by forfeit at 145.
Billy Ringering pinned Vandalia's Wyatt Goade at 152 and the Panthers won by forfeit at 160.
Vandalia's Skylar Depew earned an 8-2 win over Brett Brakenhoff at 170, and Jake Stewart defeated Litchfield's Paul Seipp, 8-4, at 182.
At 195, Bobby Bradley earned a 13-2 victory over Rheese Radtke. Litchfield's Cole Werner pinned Dalton Whitten at 220, but Kendrick Woolsey won by fall over Travis Hancock in 36 seconds at 285.

Highland
The Vandals won, 51-21.
Highland won by forfeit at 106. Paslay pinned Nathan Tucker at 113, and Womack earned a 6-4 decision over Jacob Mitchell at 120.
Lipsey won by fall over Mason Geiger at 126, Tessman pinned Anthony Gallo at 132 and Sullen won by fall over Brock Swearingen at 138.
Goade of VCHS won by forfeit at 145, and both teams were open at 152.
Highland won by forfeit at 160, and Brody Kirsch pinned Depew at 170.
Stewart pinned Christian Zuccarelli in 36 seconds at 182.
Bradley and Whitten both won by forfeit. At 285, Nick Czar earned a 7-0 win over Woolsey.

 

 CARLINVILLE — The Vandalia Vandals had little trouble in securing two duals wins at Carlinville last Tuesday night.
Vandalia defeated Carlinville, 58-24. The Vandals also beat Wood River, 57-18.
The wins pushed Vandalia's dual record to 18-5.

The dual featured numerous forfeits, as only three actual matches were wrestled.
Vandalia's Jarrett Paslay won by fall over Xavier Lewis in 1:25 at 113 pounds.
Chaston Womack pinned Tyler Martin in 1:51 at 126.
Bobby Bradley earned a 12-1 decision over Daniel Cord at 220.
James Crawford (120), Cody Phillips (132), Logan Sullens (138), Wyatt Goade (145), Jake Stewart (182), Matt Ledbetter (195) and Nick Trible (285) all won by forfeit.
Carlinville won by forfeit at 106, 152, 160 and 170.

Vandalia vs. Wood River
This dual also saw both teams open at several weights.
Paslay pinned Austin Hammond in 57 seconds and Womack won by fall in 1:02 over Chris Staggs.
Luke Tessman earned a 5-2 decision over Donnie Meadows at 132. Sullens won by fall over Tristan Moore at 138. Stewart pinned Zac Kincade in 1:45 at 182.
Crawford, Goade, Bradley, Dalton Whitten (220) and Trible all won by forfeit. Wood River won by forfeit at 106, 160 and 170. Both teams were open at 152.
