Local players earn NTC volleyball honors

The area was well-represented on the 2014 National Trail All-Conference Volleyball Team.
St. Elmo/Brownstown's Gabi Moore and South Central's Maria Brasel were both recognized as first-team all-conference selections.
Both schools also had two selections on the second team — St. Elmo/Brownstown's Elizabeth Guerrero and Emily Bone, and South Central's Emily Chapman and Diedra Schaal.
Megan Nuxoll of Effingham St. Anthony was chosen as the conference's Most Valuable Player.
Stewardson-Strasburg was the only team from the NTC to win a regional title.
South Central advanced to a regional title game, falling to Woodlawn.
