4 Evans Public Library in Vandalia will host PACK (Pups Assisting Children with Kindness) from 5:30-6:45 p.m. Children of all ages are welcome to read to DarnFar Ranch's specially trained therapy dogs. Registration is required; to register, call the library, 283-2824, or stop by the library.

4 CenterPointe Church, located at 1616 Veterans Ave. in Vandalia, is holding free Weekly Fit Club sessions at 6 p.m. every Thursday.

4 The regular monthly meeting of Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 will be held at the Legion Home, 321 S. Seventh St., Vandalia. The meal is at 6 p.m., and dinner is at 7 p.m.

4 The Tri-County Beekeeping Club will meet at 7 p.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1540 E. State Route 140, Greenville. The meeting will include a demonstration on how to install package bees. The group meets at 7 p.m. on the second Friday of each month. It will sponsor a queen-rearing workshop on May 3 at Overcup Baptist Church, located south of Bluff City. Saturday, April 12

 

4 The local chapter of BNI Network Masters, a business networking organization, will hold a business expo from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Vandalia Elementary School gymnasium.

4 The fifth annual Jameson Lockart Pool Tournament will be held at the Vandalia Eagles Club. A two-man, double-elimination pool tournament starts at noon, with registration running from 10-11:30 a.m.; the entry fee is $40 per team. The event also includes food from The Hitchin' Post, homemade chicken and dumplings, and a fish fry, with carry-outs available; a 50/50 drawing; a raffle featuring a gun, Coach purse and 8-foot tin palm tree; large silent auction; and music by DJ Jeff Moulton at 6 p.m. The proceeds go to the Jameson Lockart Advancement Fund. 4 Evans Public Library in Vandalia is celebrating National Library Week, April 13-19. The public is invited to visit the library.

4 The Brownstown Schools fine arts department will hold its spring concert and art show at 2:30 p.m. in the high school gym. Band and choir students in grades 8-12 will perform, beginning at 2:30 p.m., and art created by students in grades 8-12 will be on display for viewing before and after the concert.

Monday, April 14

 

4 An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 3-7 p.m. at St. Elmo Elementary School, 519 W. Second St.

4 The Vandalia Lions Club will meet at Days Inn. The executive board meets at 5:15 p.m., and the meal and regular meeting are at 6 p.m.

Tuesday, April 15

 

4 The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.

4 TOPS IL 2020 will meet in the Fayette County Hospital conference room. Weigh-in is from 5-5:30 p.m., with the meeting to follow.

4 The Vandalia Board of Education meets at 5 p.m. in the district's administration center.

4 A Weight Watchers meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Vandalia; weigh-in is at 5 p.m. Visitors are welcome to attend the meeting free of charge.

4 The Rainbow Reflections grief support group will meet from 6-7 p.m. in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church, 127 N. Fourth St., Vandalia. Those planning to attend the meeting or having questions are asked to call Mary Miller at 292-5366.
