? The Illinois Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing from 4-7 p.m. at the Ramsey Grade School, 610 W. Sixth St.,to present the remaining four-lane alternatives of U.S. Route 51 in the Ramsey area. This is the last opportunity for residents to comment on the remaining alternatives. There is no formal presentation; representatives from IDOT and the Route 51 consultant team will be available to answer questions and accept comments.
? CenterPointe Church, located at 1616 Veterans Ave. in Vandalia, is holding free Weekly Fit Club sessions at 6 p.m. every Thursday.

? Evans Public Library in Vandalia will hold its Teen Advisory Board meeting at 4 p.m. Those interested in joining the board stop by the library for an application or call 283-2824.
? TheThe annual Soroptimist Awards Banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Days Inn of Vandalia.
Saturday, April 5
? The 53rd Ramsey Lions Club's Community Sale will be held in Lions Park, one block west of U.S. Route 51. The sale begins at 9 a.m. and features hundreds of farm machinery items, riding and push mowers, fencing, building materials and many other types of items.
? Get Fit with Kim, a free session on health, nutrition and wellness, will be held from 10 a.m.-noon at Holiday Inn Express in Vandalia. For more information, contact Kim Lipe at 217-710-1646, or Mandy Pearson at 267-3686.
? The St. Paul Lutheran Church in rural Shobonier will host an open house from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for a former church pastor, the Rev. Calvin Seban, and a former teacher, Stanley Bluma, in the church parish hall.
? The Vandalia Country and Golf Club will hold a wine-tasting event from 7-10 p.m. The event is open to the public, and the cost is $10 per person at the door. The fee includes hors d'oeuvres and complimentary tastings. A number of local wineries will be showcasing their wines with samples and bottles available for purchase. Participating wineries include Vahlings Vineyards, Fox Creek Vineyards and Summer Breeze Wine House.
Sunday, April 6
? A benefit for Daron Rigdon will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Brownstown Fire Station. It will include a barbecue meal. There is no charge, but donations will be accepted.
? St. Paul Lutheran Church in rural Shobonier will be celebrating 150 years of worship starting with a catered meal at noon, followed by speaker David Knecht and comments from the Rev. Calvin Seban and Stanley Bluma at 1 p.m., with a church service being led by Seban at 2 p.m. Those wishing to attend the meal are asked to RSVP by email to [email protected] or call 292-3714. Knecht grew up in Fayette County and has written a history book on the St. Paul area. Seban is a former pastor at St. Paul and Stanley Bluma is a former teacher.
? The Shoal Creek Chapter of ABATE will meet at 1 p.m. at the Vandalia VFW. It will include discussion on the Fallen Riders Hog Roast, to be held at 5 p.m. on April 26; it will be open to the public.

? The Women of the Moose will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge.
? The Vandalia City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at city hall.
Tuesday, April 8
? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? TOPS IL 2020 will meet in the Fayette County Hospital conference room. Weigh-in is from 5-5:30 p.m., with the meeting to follow.
? A Weight Watchers meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Vandalia; weigh-in is at 5 p.m. Visitors are welcome to attend the meeting free of charge.
