School foundation is starting Distinguished Alumni Award

The Vandalia Alumni and Friends Foundation is searching for nominees for its inaugural year of presenting annual Distinguished Alumni Awards.
The inaugural winners will be awarded their plaques at the Alumni Banquet on Sept. 27, and a plaque will be placed in the high school.
Criteria for candidates include:
• Graduated from Vandalia High School.
• Graduated at least 20 years prior to nomination.
• Have made outstanding accomplishments in his or her profession.
• Have made significant contributions to his or her community or society.
There is a maximum of five honorees in the first year.

Nominations are due to the superintendent’s Office by April 15.
A selection committee has been formed to review nominations of Distinguished Alumni recipients.
