‘Meet the Author’ next Wednesday at museum

The Fayette County Museum and Artworks Gallery are hosting a “Meet the Author” session at 6 p.m. next Wednesday.
The featured author is Joanne Hardy, who will talk about her book, “The Girl in the Butternut Dress.”
Hardy grew up in Clay County and now lives in Palm Desert, Calif.
Her historical novel is about a young girl facing the extraordinary challenge of divided loyalties during the Civil War. It is based on true stories from Southern Illinois.
The museum’s special exhibits during August are “Books by Local Authors” and “School Artifacts.”
